BANDI Consultants, commissioned by Hyundai Steel, is carrying out a project to develop proprietary floating substructure design technology that simultaneously satisfies motion performance and structural safety for floating offshore wind systems.
This project applies a hybrid floating substructure composed of concrete–steel composite structures and is based on integrated load analysis of the entire floating offshore wind system, including the floating substructure, wind turbine, and mooring system.
Through this approach, structural analyses and design drawings for major components are developed, and design reports and drawings for DNV class approval are produced.
In particular, by reflecting realistic offshore environmental conditions in load estimation and structural response assessments, the project aims to secure the structural stability and design reliability of key substructure components.
Furthermore, the project seeks to establish a core substructure design technology platform applicable to future demonstration and commercial floating offshore wind projects.
