Capability Development for Integrated Analysis and Design of Dynamic Cables for Floating Offshore Wind

BandI Consultants is conducting a collaborative R&D project with Korea Power Engineering Company to develop integrated load analysis and Dynamic Cable design technologies for floating offshore wind systems.

This collaborative research aims to establish integrated, analysis-based design methodologies by coupling the floating platform, mooring system, and Dynamic Cable power transmission system for floating offshore wind applications.

Through this project, systematic analysis and design procedures are being developed to evaluate the dynamic behavior, structural integrity, and fatigue performance of Dynamic Cables, including both inter-array and export cables.

As part of this effort, BandI Consultants is advancing Dynamic Cable layout optimization, establishing design criteria, and enhancing analysis techniques, thereby building a technical foundation applicable to future demonstration projects and commercial-scale designs.

Through this collaborative research, BandI Consultants seeks to strengthen its expertise in the analysis and design of floating offshore wind systems and dynamic power cables, contributing to the enhancement of domestic technological competitiveness in floating offshore wind energy.
