BANDI, participating as a designer for Hyundai Engineering & Construction’s consortium, has been selected as the qualified bidder for the detailed design of the New Han River Bridge and Olympic-daero Expansion project.
This project aims to enhance metropolitan transportation by providing a crucial access route from southern Seoul to the newly developed areas of Wangsuk Districts (part of the 3rd generation new town) and Yangjeong Station Area in Namyangju City. It will also help alleviate traffic congestion on the Gangbyeonbuk-ro and Olympic-daero expressways.
BANDI is in charge of the main bridge design. With this award, we will undertake the detailed design of a new iconic Han River bridge.
As the 34th bridge to span the Han River, this structure will feature a 180-meter span PSC box girder bridge, the longest of its kind in South Korea, to be constructed using the balanced cantilever method. The design prioritizes technological advancement, while ensuring harmony with the surrounding landscape and ecologically protected areas.
We look forward to continuing to drive innovation in long-span bridge engineering field and the success of future landmark infrastructure projects.
